The meeting held on Monday 10th February 2014 was a
discussion on very local issues regarding dog fouling, parking and the severe
vibrations felt in St Ninian Terrace
No exact reason has been
found as to what the cause of the vibrations is felt in St Ninian Terrace, this
happens both during the day and during the night. Scott Kerr has contacted NGHA
regarding this and it was indicated to him that it is resident’s responsibility
to find and deal with the source. Lily reported on her experiences regarding
the vibrations felt in Errol Gardens while Sandiefield Road was being
demolished. Three suggestions have been put forward; trains using the track at
Laurieston Road mainly at night; works being carried out at the Riverside
Campus, Glasgow College; heavy and deep work on Ballater Street for the new
sewer pipes. Jeff said he would contact both Railquest and Iain Balmer of Sir
Robert McAlpine at the college. He has done this and will report at our next
meeting.
Cars are
being parked all day on the double yellow lines at the turning point on St
Ninian Terrace. Advice: contact the police or GCSS.
Concerns regarding litter,
dog fouling in the area as well as ongoing parking issues were raised again.
Lily reported that up to 16 different dogs were being allowed to use the
communal garden area of Errol Gardens. The advice given: contact NGHA who
should deal with the problem and if this was not satisfactory then contact
GCSS.
We have not been kept up to
date regarding the plans for the new NGHA offices to be built on the old
Sandiefield Road site facing onto Crown Street. Jeff said he has the plans and
will bring them to the next meeting.
